WHAT IS the Expanding Minds Program?
The Expanding Minds After School Program in essence is the rebranding of the After School Education and Safety Program. Based on new legislation, Expanding Minds aims to provide an extended day to all students in need. This program provides after school instructional support, recreation, and a variety of enrichment activities. This programs are created through partnerships between schools and local community resources to provide:
- Literacy reinforcement
- Academic enrichment
- Safe constructive alternatives for students
Funding is designed to:
- Maintain existing before and after school program funding.
- Provide access for all elementary school students.
- Increase school connectedness and student educational outcomes.
